A Hoya 27mm HMC NDX8 Filter is encouraged to make improvements to the functionality of contemporary multicoated lenses. Use the filter to minimize depth of field by allowing for wider apertures to be utilised, this isolates subjects from their backdrop.
This Hoya filter dissipates the total sum of light gets into the lens by 3 stops. Now you can allow slow shutter speeds to be used, this is especially true with fast films, to document activity in subjects just like waterfalls, clouds, motor vehicles etc.
The HMC (Hoya Multi-Coating) offers 3 layers of anti-reflective coating on the glass surface which in turn diminishes reflections.

- Reduces excessively bright, washed-out images.
- Balances exposure to provide less ghosting and lens flare.
- Increases control of depth of field.
- An 8x filter provides an ND.9 exposure modification = 3 stops, reduces ISO 1/8.
