Description
Details
The Samyang 16mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS Lens Olympus 4/3 has a minimum focus distance of 0.2m, the lens also features a large aperture of f/2.0 so will work really well under most lighting conditions, including low light conditions. When you can´t get back far enough to get everyone in the shot like in a group shot or a very large building simply connect this lens and fit much more in to the frame.
This wide angle lens is compatible with Olympus 3/4 DSLRs using APS-C format cameras and Olympus 4/3 mounts. This type of lens is perfect for architecture, landscapes, interior pictures, panoramic views as well as for shooting monuments, mainly due to the viewing angle of 83.1°.
Product features:
- The UMC lens coatings will allow even light transmission and decreases ghosting and flare.
- Wide angle focal length equal to 24mm in 35mm format.
- Fast f/2.0 maximum aperture for efficient low light shooting and shallow depth of field.
- Aspherical and extra-low dispersion lens elements decrease aberrations.
- Compatible with Olympus 3/4 DSLRs using APS-C format and Olympus 4/3 mount
Constructed and developed with high quality materials, this type of ultra-wide lens will overstate the depth of field which will make objects in the background seem to be further away from the foreground than they actually are and provides the capability to exaggerate lines and curves. As with most modern Samyang lenses it has been sprayed with a layer of multilayer anti-reflective coating or (UMC) to reduce reflections and flare.
The Samyang 16mm f/2.0 ED Lens has an optical layout of 13 elements arranged into 11 groups including a low dispersion ED element, an aspheric optical element and to give maximum quality and contrast to images it includes a hybrid aspherical glass element, this ensures optimum light transmission and supplies precise colour reproduction.
A standard field of view is offered when using lenses of a 30-35mm focal length, this is more or less the same as what the human eye sees, so at 18mm you can fit so much more in the frame as the field of view is almost twice as wide, while at 12mm you will fit 50% more of FOV and so on. A photographer may use this effect in all kinds of creative ways.

This type of wide angle lens offers a great depth of field that means you can incorporate a large quantity of the image in to the frame of the photograph, this is particularly important for landscape photography. This Samyang lens offers great value for money and is more cost effective than many similar alternatives on the market at the moment.
