The most versatile ND filter on the market
If you want to create effects such as blurry water or clouds in motion in your pictures, so attractive in landscape photography, here is the perfect accessory for you. The Gloxy variable ND filter blocks the entry of light into your lens in a totally variable and adjustable way: you just have to turn the ring of the filter to control the quantity of light to block. The easiest and fastest way of controlling light in your works, as if you had several ND filters in one.
This a Gloxy variable neutral density ranging from ND2 to ND400. In other terms, you will have the possibility to apply a different density according to the current light situation or the required effect. If you adjust the filter to its minimum density, i.e. ND2, it will only allow the path of 50% of the light through the lens. It is the same as closing the shutter by one stop. On the other hand, the minimum exposure is ND400, equivalent to 8 and 2/3 less shutter stops (below 9). It is very easy to use, you just have to spin the filter on your lens to get the required density.
You can easily adjust the density you need by turning the filter on the lens
Product features:
- Blocks the netry of light into the lens to avoid overexposure
- Perfect for long exposure or big shutter apertures
- Variable: adjust easily the ring to adapt to every situation
- Compatible with 55mm diameter lenses

The thing is if you want to include these nice effects in your landscape shootings, you will have to choose a very slow shutter speed. However, if you deal with very bright daylight situations, the picture will be overexposed, even though you close the shutter at its maximum. Fortunately, the neutral density filter avoids overexposure and allows you to use long exposure in very luminous situations.
You can apply the same technique to get different results such as clouds in motion. It is an easy way of giving an original artistic touch to your work. Here are more examples, the only limit might be your imagination!

The Gloxy ND Filter is also used in other circumstances; It is extremely useful for outdoor photo sessions when the daylight is combined with a fill flash. Once we have the perfect lighting, when we obtain a smoothly blurred background we can open most of the diaphragm. To compensate the shutter speed will increase, but beware! If using a flash, yo cannot increase it too much or you will lose synchronization. Use a ND filter then to avoid overexposure and enjoy an attractive blurred background.
Remember that this Gloxy ND filter is variable, so you will always have the possibility to choose which quantity of light you need to block according to the situation. You will adapt to the current needs, as if you owned several ND filters in one.
Get a blurred background that highlights the model thanks to this ND filter, just as shown above. But if you prefer street photography than landscape photography or portrait photography, no worries: the Gloxy variable ND filter can be used in so many more circumstances, as you can see in the picture below:
