The Hoya 46mm R72 Infrared Filter is a filter implemented for infrared photography using compatible digital cameras or specialized infrared film. This close to opaque filter prevents the entry of all of visible light up to 720nm, this enables recording of subject matter and scenes that will are not visible beneath regular conditions.

As a result of the nature of infrared photography, the filter factor is remarkably variable and relies mostly upon the ISO sensitivity utilized and lighting conditions.
