The most versatile ND filter on the market
If you are looking for better creative results with your camera and your lens, perhaps you need a ND filter, i.e. a neutral density filter. What are the characteristics of these filters? Basically, they block the entry of a certain quantity of light throught your lens. With this simple function, you will get amazing results that you could not achieve without using a neutral density filter. Get the water blurry efefct, the cloud motion effect and even a picture with a shallow depth of field, even though the scene is excessively luminous. Have a look at the following example made with a ND filter.
To get the blurry water effect or the cloud motion effect, you have to use very low shutter speeds, which can be a problem if you are shooting in daylight, in optimal light conditions. Even if you close the shutter at its maximum, it is generally not enough. If you want to accentuate the water blurry effect or the cloud motion effect, you will increase the exposure time and get an overexposed picture since you cannot close more the shutter, as we said. How can you fix that and get the same pictures as the ones featured in this ad? With a ND filter like the Gloxy ND2-ND400 variable filter. This filter is compatible with 62mm diameter lenses.
You can easily adjust the density you need by turning the filter on the lens

Get creative exposures in your landscapes and portraits
You can apply this technique to water or clouds in order to provide an artistic touch to your landscape photographs. But a ND filter is not only useful for that. There are other situations in which you wiil get incredible results as well with this filter. You will be able to get pictures with a short depth of field, for example, when you shoot outside with the help of a speedlight flash as a fill light.
Let's picture a very common situation and lighting scheme in an outdoor session. If you want to shorten the depth of field, you will open more the shutter and increase the shutter speed to compensate but here comes a problem: the flash cannot synchronise above a certain speed. And if you cannot increase speed, over 1/160 for example, you will get an overexposed picture, especially if you maintain open the sutter to get a blurred background. But with the Gloxy ND filter, you will avoid overexposure and keep an attractive slightly unfocused background. It will make the difference!

This Gloxy filter is variable, so you will have the possibility to use from 1 to 9 more shutter stops and adapt to any situation by turning the adjustment ring of the filter. It is much easier than a classic ND filter since this one only block a specific quantity of light. On te contrary in this case, you will be able to change from N2 to ND400 by turning the ring. It is like having several ND filters in one in your photo gear. Fast, easy and useful.
The possibilities of this filter are so many, the only limit may be your imagination. Since you can freeze a movement in very bright scenes with no risk of overexposure, you cannot only apply this technique to landscape photography but also to street photography. Do you want to see an example?
This Gloxy filter is made of high quality optical glass and it has a very resistant and durable structure.
